“You’re headed for Doe River Gorge!”

Say these words to your young person and they’ll be packing their bags with anticipation and excitement.  Some young people refer to Doe River Gorge as “heaven on earth,” others say it’s their favorite place in the whole world, and some just call it “home away from home.” But whatever their description, one thing is for sure—young people love Doe River Gorge.

And Doe River Gorge loves young people!

From the time your child is eight years old until they graduate from college, Doe River Gorge offers sequential summer programs that challenges young people year-after-year and leads to exponential personal growth and spiritual development.

Our goal is to partner with you to help your child become all that God intends them to be. We strive to be very intentional to provide an experience where your child will...

Have Fun

For your child to have a meaningful experience they must, first of all, have fun. Fun is the catalyst that builds relationships and expedites learning. From crazy parties, hilarious activities and fun-loving staff, your child will experience fun and laughter and build memories that will last a lifetime.

Be Loved and Celebrated

Your child will be inspired and encouraged being surrounded by friendly, smiling faces ready to help them have one of the best times of their lives. In an atmosphere of acceptance and love, where people are celebrated and “put-downs” are not permitted, they will find refuge from the stress and pressure of their culture.

Explore New Interests

From high adventure, to sports, and creative arts, Doe River Gorge offers over 50 classes and activities where your child can choose the things they want to do. They can explore their interests to discover their gifts, abilities, and passions. In an environment where successes are celebrated and failures are viewed as stepping stones, your young person will feel the freedom to move out of their comfort zone and try new things.

Build and Manage Friendships

Friendships form quickly as students live, work, and play together. But with conflict a reality in human relationships, those friendships can also end abruptly. With an emphasis on teamwork, trust-building, problem-solving, and communication skills, students learn lifelong principles for managing relationships. Those principles carry over into their home, school, career, and future marriage, resulting in relationships that last a lifetime.

Establish a Solid Biblical Foundation

All of the activities are woven together to help students establish a firm foundation for their lives, based on the Word of God. Through activity debrief sessions, small group discussions, dynamic worship, transformational teaching, spiritual growth Explorations, and solo times in God’s Word, students formulate strong Christian values, develop deep moral convictions, and learn to choose the hard-right over the easy-wrong. They will know what they believe, why they believe it, and learn to articulate their faith. They will have the foundation they need to reach their potential and live the adventure God intended.

Gain Confidence

One of the greatest hindrances to personal growth is a lack of confidence. Confidence comes by being competent. As your child overcomes fears, develops new skills, learns to manage their relationships, and grows in their faith, they will become a more confident person. In an atmosphere of love and acceptance, they will discover that they are important, valued, loved, and uniquely created by God for a significant purpose.

Learn to Lead

Leadership is influence. As your child develops new competencies and Christian character, they will learn to influence others in a positive way. They will increasingly gain discernment and decision-making skills, and learn how to take initiative. Through these experiences they will identify their passions and formulate a vision for their life. They will lead because they will know where they are going.
