Summer camp for the entire family!

By popular demand, Doe River Gorge is offering, for the first time in our history, summer camp for the entire family! Escape, relax and enjoy all the fun and adventure you can imagine while creating unforgettable memories and strengthening your family bonds.

"The best family vacation destinations give adults the ability to relax and the kids the opportunity to run free without having to be watched every minute."

"Ask your friends about their best vacation ever. At some point in the journey, adults had an opportunity to connect and relax. Kids had the opportunity to explore, run free and just be kids… but in a foreign setting. These elements create the best experience for both parents and kids."

FUNN (Functional Understanding Not Necessary): fishing, relaxing at the beach, horseback riding, scaling the 70’ climbing tower at the lake, riding the 700’ lake zipline, or a train ride into the gorge, ice cream at the lakeside Sidetrack Café, campfire s'mores and MORE!

Family: Bring the entire family for quality time to focus on relationships.

Fellowship: Connect with other families and friends as you relax and have fun together.

Festivities: Special events including Fireworks on Independance Day.

Food: Great meals...leave all the cooking to our professional chef.

Faith: Powerful speakers, meaningful worship, breakout sessions and quiet time alone. Strengthen your family's relationship with God.

If your family chooses “Dorm Style Housing” in the registration process, the living will be dorm style with other families but not co-ed. Roommate requests are available for this choice. In the event that a child does not have a parent of the same gender then they will be housed like campers with children in their age group with our qualified counselors.
We have cabins and teepees available for single family housing or you can choose to rent one of those spaces together. The cabins can be structured with multiple rooms to house more than one family.

There are a few activities that require an additional fee and will be available for you to purchase at the Outfitters Store or the Creative Arts Center throughout the week.
You can choose to participate in as much or as little as you would like. Please feel the freedom to only participate in the activities and events that you need for your family.

We would do everything that we could to accommodate any special needs, although our facility & activities do not have ramps or paths for wheelchairs.
This week is for families so we would need to have adults stay too.
We do have fishing equipment that can be checked out of the Outfitters Store. Both rod & reel and fly fishing equipment are available for the river or nearby Watauga Lake. Unfortunately, we do not allow fishing in our lake. Keep in mind that all State laws regarding fishing need to be obeyed & we’ll need to see a current fishing license with a trout stamp (river only) for anyone 13 years of age or older.
