The Manes 'N Tails equestrian program combines qualified staff and well-trained horses to create an atmosphere where students can learn basic horsemanship skills and enjoy riding with friends. They will also learn how to apply simple principles of horseback riding to their spiritual growth.

Students will trek their horses through a beautiful mountain trail as well as learn basic western riding skills in the corral. Our horses are well-seasoned, gentle and kind, and help instill confidence in the rider. In addition to riding lessons, there will be plenty of time for grooming and pampering your favorite horse. The overall priorities Manes 'N Tails is safety, fun, and skill advancement - all while getting to know the creator God.

Meet your Manes 'N Tails directors: Tim and Becky Richardson

program directors Tim and Becky Richardson Becky and Tim Richardson have overseen the equestrian program at Doe River Gorge since 2001, and love helping students understand and relate the excitement of horseback riding to their spiritual lives. Becky has many years of experience teaching riding lessons and working with children and adults of all ages. She worked at Millercrest Stables in Johnson City for 12 years, and operated Cedar Lane Stables in Johnson City for three years.
